RIMOUSKI, Que. - Yannick Riendeau scored twice and Dmitry Kulikov added three assists as the Drummondville Voltigeurs beat the Rimouski Oceanic 7-2 to sweep their four-game Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal on Wednesday night.
Marc-Olivier Vachon and Dany Masse each had a goal and an assist for Drummondville, while Gabriel Dumont, Mike Hoffman and Phillippe Lefebvre also scored.
Marco Cousineau had a relatively easy night in making 20 saves for the win.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Shawinigan 5 Quebec 4.
At Rimouski, the Voltigeurs swarmed the Oceanic net in the first period, as goalie Maxim Gougeon was pulled after giving up five goals on 14 shots.
Matthew Dopud replaced Gougeon to start the second and surrendered two goals on 25 shots the rest of the way.
Philippe Cornet and Alexandre Durette had the goals for Rimouski.
Drummondville awaits the winner of the Shawinigan-Quebec series in the league final.
Cataractes 5 Remparts 4
At Shawinigan, Que., Dave Labrecque scored twice and Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll had a goal and two assists as the Cataractes beat the Remparts to take a 3-1 lead in their QMJHL semifinal.
Nicholas Petersen had a goal and an assist for Shawinigan, while Pierre-Alexandre Vandall added two assists.
David Gilbert scored twice for Quebec, while Guillaume Monast and Mikael Tam also score for the Remparts, who jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead before Shawinigan stormed back with three in the second and two more in the third.
Game 5 goes Friday in Quebec City.
