Watson scores game winner to lift Peterborough over Mississauga 5-2 @NHLdotcom

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Austin Watson scored the game winner, while shorthanded, and added an assist in the Peterborough Petes' 5-2 victory over the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors Friday night in Ontario Hockey League play at the Hershey Centre.

Peter Ceresnak and Matt Puempel also recorded a goal and an assist while Slater Koekkoek and Lino Martschini scored singles for the Petes (9-5-3).

For Mississauga (10-5-2), Derek Schoenmakers registered a goal and an assist while Riley Brace also scored.

Peterborough's Andrew D'Agostini stopped 29 shots while Majors rookie Spencer Martin turned aside 35 pucks in a losing cause.

The Majors, who went the entire game without committing a minor penalty, were shutout on seven power-play opportunities.
