Varone scores in OT as Knights tie OHL West final with Spitfires @NHLdotcom

LONDON, Ont. - John Tavares scored two straight goals to send the game to overtime and Phil Varone provided the winner as the London Knights beat the Windsor Spitfires 6-5 Friday, tying the Ontario Hockey League Western Conference final at 1-1.

John Carlson had two goals and an assist and Philip McRae also scored for London.

Scott Timmins, Eric Wellwood, Taylor Hall, Rob Kwiet and Greg Nemisz replied for Windsor. Ryan Ellis added two assists.

Trevor Cann made 27 saves for London while Andrew Engelage stopped 38 shots for Windsor.

Game 3 is Sunday in Windsor, Ont.
