The Colorado Avalanche announced today that netminder Semyon Varlamov will be day-to-day with a groin injury. Goaltending prospect Calvin Pickard has been recalled from the Lake Erie Monsters to support Reto Berra during Varlamov's absence.
Varlamov is coming off of consecutive road victories, against the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils, and has played in 10 of the Avalanche's past 13 contests. He owns a 4-5-4 record with a .918 save percentage and a 2.95 goals-against average in that span.
