EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Raffi Torres had a productive 24th birthday party at the Vancouver Canucks' expense.

Torres scored the second of his two power-play goals with 23 seconds left in regulation and also had a shootout goal in the Edmonton Oilers' 4-3 victory over the Canucks on Saturday night.

"It was definitely intense," Torres said. "Look at the passes I got from my linemates."

In the shootout, Torres and Ales Hemsky beat Canucks goalie Dan Cloutier, while Vancouver's Markus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi failed in their attempts against the Oilers' Jussi Markkanen.

"I was shaky before the game," said Markkanen, activated Friday after recovering from a broken collarbone. "I just tried to read what they were going to do."

Shawn Horcoff also scored in regulation for the Oilers.

"It was an amazing win," Oilers coach Craig MacTavish said. "We didn't get out-skilled tonight."

Naslund had two power-play goals and also assisted on Sami Salo's goal for Vancouver, which was 3-for-12 with the man advantage.

"We've got to put teams away when we have chances," Naslund said.

The Oilers lost star forward Ryan Smyth in the first period because of a sprained left knee, and power-play point man Jarret Stoll limped off in the second after a crushing hit from Bryan Allen.

Notes: Edmonton outshot Vancouver 21-10 in the second period and 34-31 overall. ... Mike Peca earned his first point with the Oilers with an assist on Torres' tying goal.
