Matthew Pistilli's overtime goal moved the Shawinigan Cataractes within a hair of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's overall lead.

The Cataractes beat the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Thursday to increase their winning streak to six games. Coupled with Durmmondville's 2-1 loss to Val-d'Or, the Cataractes (46-11-2-0) moved within a point of the Voltigeurs for top spot in both the league and the Central Division.

At Sydney, N.S., Maxime Macenauer scored twice in regulation while Dave Labrecque also had a goal for Shawinigan.

Nick MacNeil, Michael Ward and Mathieu Brodeur replied for Cape Breton.

Timo Pielmeier made 23 saves for the Cataractes while Olivier Roy stopped 29 shots for the Screaming Eagles (40-16-2-1).

At Val-d'Or, Que., Samuel Morneau and Alex Noel scored as the Foreurs stopped Drummondville's eight-game winning streak.

Raffaele D'Orso was stellar in goal, making 48 saves for Val-d'Or (18-34-3-4).

Dmitry Kulikov replied for the Voltigeurs (46-10-0-3).
