Thunderbirds continue late playoff push with 3-1 win over Spokane @NHLdotcom

KENT, Wash. - Connor Honey scored twice and Calvin Pickard made 41 saves to help the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 3-1 win over the Spokane Chiefs in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.

Seth Swenson also had a goal and two assists for Seattle (24-43-2).

The win moves the Thunderbirds to within one point of Victoria for the eighth and final playoff spot, with Seattle having three games left in the regular season.

Steven Kuhn had the only goal for Spokane (36-24-9).

Spokane outshot Seattle 42-24 in the game. The Chiefs did not score on six power play opportunities while Seattle scored all three of its goals with a man advantage.
