ATLANTA (AP) -Thrashers All-Star forward Ilya Kovalchuk, who missed two games with a knee injury, was back in uniform on Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Kovalchuk didn't start, but he participated in pregame warmups and was included on the team's playing roster for the game.
Kovalchuk was injured on a knee-on-knee hit from Pittsburgh left winger Jarkko Ruutu Wednesday night, forcing him to miss games against Buffalo and Washington. Atlanta won both games.
The 24-year-old came into Tuesday night second in the NHL in goals scored with 38.
An MRI on Kovalchuk was negative, and he had no serious swelling.
