The Cougars score four in the first en route to an 8-3 victory over Kamloops

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - The Prince George Cougars scored four times in the first period en route to an 8-3 victory over the Kamloops Blazers in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Dana Tyrell, with three, Alex Poulter, with two, Corey Tyrell, Parker Stanfield and Greg Gardner scored for the Cougars (8-9-0-0).

Brock Nixon, with two, and Mark Hall replied for the Blazers (6-9-1-0), who have lost three in a row.

Prince George goaltender Tommy Tartaglione stopped 27 shots. Justin Leclerc started for Kamloops, stopping 5-of-9 shots. James Priestner played the last two periods, turning aside eight shots.
