Tassone scores a pair to lead Swift Current past Medicine Hat 5-3

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - The Swift Current Broncos were too much for the short-staffed Medicine Hat Tigers.

Matt Tassone scored twice as the Broncos beat the Tigers 5-3 in WHL action Saturday. Keegan Dansereau, Dillon Wagner and Cody Eakin had singles for Swift Current (22-15-0-1). Tristan King, Sean Ringrose and Josh Koper replied for the Tigers (21-12-3-3), who have three players taking part at the world junior hockey championship.

Mark Guggenberger turned away 35 of 38 shots for the Broncos, while Travis Yonkman didn't have to make any saves playing a short shift in the second period.

Ryan Holfeld went the distance in goal for the Tigers, making 20 saves.
