CHILLIWACK, B.C. - Dustin Sylvester scored the winner in shootout as the Kootenay Ice skated to a 4-3 win over the Chilliwack Bruins in the WHL Friday night.

Oscar Moller scored to give the Bruins (23-24-3-4) a 1-0 lead after one period before the Ice countered with two quick goals, both by Captain Steve DaSilva to take a 2-1 lead early in the middle frame.

Nick Holden made it 2-2 midway through the period, then Dustin Sylvester regained the lead for the Ice (32-18-4-2) to make it 3-2.

David Robinson capped off a wild period of scoring, netting a short-handed marker to make it 3-3 through 40 minutes of play.

After a scoreless third period and overtime, Sylvester was the only player to beat a goalie in the shootout, going glove side on Mark Friesen for the deciding tally.

Friesen took his second straight loss, stopping 38 shots, while Kris Lazeruk notched his 19th victory of the season with a 33-save performance.
