Swift Current scores three in the third to beat Kootenay 4-2
NHL.com @NHLdotcomSWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Third period goals 19 seconds apart from Mike Brown and Michael Stickland helped the Swift Current Broncos to a 4-2 comeback win over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League action Friday.
Brown scored his first of the season at the 7:20 mark of the third period, while Stickland, a former Kootenay player, notched his 22nd of the campaign just seconds later.
Geordie Wudrick rounded out the scoring with his 28th of the season at 9:23 of the third, to give the Broncos three goals in 2:03.
The Broncos also got a goal and an assist from Keegan Dansereau, who now has 35 goals on the year.
Kootenay, who led 2-1 after the first two periods, got goals from Max Reinhart with his 10th of the year and Tylan Stephens with his team-leading 23rd of the season.
Broncos goaltender Morgan Clark won his sixth game of the season with a 26-save performance.
Ice netminder Todd Mathews stopped 32 of 36 shots in the loss.
The Broncos improve to 34-26-1-1, while Kootenay drops to 28-24-2-6.
