Subban in, Gomez out for Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens have confirmed P.K. Subban will be back in the lineup Friday for the Montreal Canadiens when they visit the Detroit Red Wings (7 p.m. ET, NHLN-US, CBC, RDS).

Subban had been a healthy scratch for the last three games. He last played Dec. 1 against the Oilers, when he made a pair of bad plays that led to Edmonton goals and allowed the Oilers to win 4-3 in overtime.

Coach Jacques Martin had only said, "we'll see" when asked about Subban following Friday's morning practice, the rookie defenseman told the Montreal Gazette he would be in the lineup tonight, and the Canadiens have confirmed that on their Twitter account. He'll replace Yannick Weber, who took Subban's spot the last three games.

Subban has 9 points and a plus-5 rating in 25 games this season, but had just 1 point in seven games prior to his benching.

The Canadiens will be without forward Scott Gomez, who will miss the game to recover from a lower-body injury. Dustin Boyd reportedly will take his spot in the lineup.
