Stone snipes winner as Hitmen down Central Division rivals Medicine Hat 2-1

CALGARY - Michael Stone's second-period goal stood up as the game-winner as the Calgary Hitmen edged the Medicine Hat Tigers 2-1 in Western Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

Defenceman Paul Postma set up power-play goals by Brett Sonne in the first and Stone in the second for the Hitmen (14-4-1-0), who improved their record at the Pengrowth Saddledome to 11-1.

Mark Isherwood opened the scoring for the Tigers (7-6-2-2) during a two-man advantage in the opening period before the Hitmen rallied to beat them for the third time in three games between the Central Division rivals so far this season.

Martin Jones made 23 saves for Calgary, while Medicine Hat netminder Ryan Holfeld stopped 32 shots.
