Stone scores winner as Hitmen beat Seattle 2-1 for fifth straight win @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Michael Stone scored a power-play goal midway through the third period to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 2-1 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Sunday afternoon

Stone one-timed a cross-ice pass from Brandon Kozun past Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard, who finished the game with 33 saves.

Tyler Fiddler scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season for the Hitmen (12-3-0), who have now won five straight games.

Prab Rai scored the lone goal for the Thunderbirds (3-9-1), whose road record fell to 0-5 this season.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones was forced to make just 11 saves as he improved his record to 6-0. With the victory, Jones set a new franchise record with his 78th career win in a Hitmen uniform to pass the old mark of 77 set by Dan Spence last year.
