Stone scores on overtime to lead Wheat Kings to 6-5 win over Broncos @NHLdotcom

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Mark Stone scored a power-play goal 1:53 into overtime to lift the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 6-5 win over the Swift Current Broncos in Western Hockey League action Wednesday.

Brandon's Alessio Bertaggia forced overtime when he scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season with just 2.28 seconds left in regulation.

Paul Ciarelli had two goals for Brandon (2-1-0), while Eric Roy and Michael Ferland also scored.

Broncos overage forward Taylor Vause scored his first career WHL hat trick on his 20th birthday in a losing cause. Swift Current (0-2-1) also had power-play goals from import defenceman Richard Nedomlel and defenceman Reece Scarlett.

Swift Current went three for six on the power play, while Brandon converted on two of four man advantages.

Wheat Kings goaltender Liam Liston earned the win with 24 saves in his first start of the season.

Broncos netminder Steven Myland appeared in his first WHL game, taking the loss after yielding six goals on 29 shots.
