Stefan Noesen, Alex Aleardi each score twice as Whalers hammer Spirit 7-3 @NHLdotcom

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Stefan Noesen and Alex Aleardi each scored twice as the Plymouth Whalers clobbered the Saginaw Spirit 7-3 in Ontario Hockey League play Wednesday.

Mitchell Heard, Garrett Meurs and Rickard Rakell each added singles for Plymouth (17-6-3), which won its eighth-straight game.

Saginaw (8-15-2) opened a 2-0 lead early in the first period on quick goals by Garrett Ross and Jamie Oleksiak.

But five minutes later Noesen scored to key four unanswered goals by the Whalers.

Scott Wedgewood made 30 saves in net for Plymouth.

Terry Trafford added one more goal for Saginaw, while Jake Paterson turned aside 38 shots.
