Stars' McKenzie out of hospital, on injured reserve @NHLdotcom

Dallas Stars forward Curtis McKenzie has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

McKenzie was injured on a check from behind by Nikita Nesterov of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second period Thursday. McKenzie remained in a Tampa hospital following the game and was expected to return to Dallas on Friday, general manager Jim Nill told the Dallas Morning News, which reported McKenzie was on crutches.

Nesterov was suspended for two games by the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday. He received a five-minute major and game misconduct in the Lightning's 5-3 loss.

The Stars recalled forward Radek Faksa from Texas of the American Hockey League.
