Stars centre Brad Richards to miss at least six weeks with broken wrist @NHLdotcom

FRISCO, Tex. - Dallas Stars centre Brad Richards is expected to be out of the lineup for six to eight weeks due to a broken wrist.

The NHL team placed the 28-year-old forward on injured reserve Tuesday. The Stars said that Richards suffered a distal radius fracture in his right wrist in a 3-2 shootout win Monday night at Columbus.

On Tuesday morning, the team's medical staff determined that Richards will not need surgery. He will be re-evaluated in a month.

Richards has 48 points (16-32) in 55 games this season.

The Stars later recalled right-winger Chris Conner from the Peoria Rivermen.

The 25-year-old has a goal and six assists in 19 games with the Stars this season and collected 16 goals with 12 assists in 30 games with Peoria.
