MONTREAL - It is with great sadness that the Montreal Canadiens learned of the passing of Dollard St. Laurent in Beloeil on Monday. He was 85.

Originally from Verdun, St. Laurent got his start with the Canadiens in 1950-51 before playing his first full season in 1952-53. A defensive defenseman who could still pitch in on offense, it was during the 1952-53 season that St. Laurent won his first Stanley Cup.
