Spencer McAvoy scores winning goal as Broncos defeat Warriros 4-3

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - The Moose Jaw Warriors will take the path of most resistance in the Western Hockey League's post-season after losing 4-3 at home to the Swift Current Broncos Friday.

The Warriors (36-21-6-8) will finish eighth in the Eastern Conference and open the post-season against the top seed.

Spencer McAvoy scored the winner for the Broncos. Dale Weise, Matt Tassone and Zack Smith also scored for Moose Jaw.

Jordan Knackstedt, Frazer McLaren and Travis Hamonic scored for the Warriors.

Travis Yonkman stopped 28 shots to earn the win for the Broncos, while Todd Mathews made 26 saves for the Warriors.

The Broncos (41-23-1-6) moved into sixth place with the win.

The teams meet Saturday in Swift Current to close out the regular season.
