WINDSOR, Ont. - Garrett Sparks made 23 saves as the Guelph Storm hammered the Windsor Spitfires 6-0 on Thursday in the Ontario Hockey League.
Six different players scored singles as the Storm (18-18-5) completed their four-game season series with the Spitfires (19-22-4) with three victories.
Tyler Bertuzzi, Hunter Garlent, Justin Auger and Zack Mitchell all scored in the first period as the visitors jumped out to a lead they had no difficulty protecting the rest of the game.
Windsor starting netminder Jaroslav Pavelka, who registered his first OHL shutout in a 5-0 victory in Guelph last Friday, was pulled after allowing Auger's goal with just over five minutes remaining in the opening frame.
Auger, a six-foot-six rookie winger, has scored all of his goals this season since Dec. 31.
Pavelka made seven saves before being replaced by John Cullen, who made 28 saves in a relief effort.
Scott Kosmachuk and Francis Menard scored in the second period to round out the scoring in the game.
The shutout was Sparks' third of the season and his second in the last two games.
