CALGARY (CP) - Brett Sonne scored three third-period goals as the Calgary Hitmen rallied for a 7-5 win over the Red Deer Rebels in the lone WHL game Tuesday night.

Red Deer defenceman Cullen Morin scored a power-play goal at 1:25 of the third to put the Rebels up 4-2 before Sonne counted his league-leading sixth short-handed goal of the season at 4:19.

After Ryan White's power-play goal at the eight-minute mark, Sonne deflected a shot by Michael Stone just 46 seconds later for Calgary (39-24-3-4). Then at 15:31, Sonne scored the winning goal to complete his first WHL three-goal game.

"I was happy to do what I could to get the team rolling going into playoffs," Sonne said.

White added an empty-net goal, his second of the game, to round out the scoring. Freddie Pettersson had a goal and two assists while Keegan Dansereau had the other goal.

Martin Hanzal scored twice for the Rebels (34-27-4-5). Brennan Wray had a goal and an assist while Carey Pieper and Morin added the other goals.

Calgary's Martin Jones stopped 20 shots for the win over Red Deer's Morgan Clark, who made 23 saves.
