Shinkaruk has three goals, three assists as Tigers hammer Silvertips 10-2 @NHLdotcom

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Hunter Shinkaruk had three goals and three assists Tuesday night as the Medicine Hat Tigers hammered the Everett Silvertips 10-2 in WHL action.

Shinkaruk, 17, now has 20 points on the season while linemate and WHL scoring-leader Emerson Etem had a goal and five assists.

Other Tigers scorers were Dylan Bredo, Boston Leier, Reid Petryk, James Bettauer, Patrik Parkkonen and Cole Grbavac.

Everett had goals from Ryan Harrison and Cody Fowlie.

CHL goaltender of the week Tyler Bunz made 23 saves in the win.

Kent Simpson was pulled after giving up two goals in the first period on 16 shots and replaced by Austin Lotz who stopped 28 of 36 shots in relief.

Medicine Hat improved to 12-5, tied with the Kootenay Ice atop the WHL standings.

Everett fell to 4-11-0-2 and is in the midst of a nine-game road swing.
