OSHAWA, Ont. - Shea Kewin scored on a low slap shot 1:12 into overtime, lifting the Oshawa Generals to a 4-3 win over the Sudbury Wolves in the Ontario Hockey League Sunday.
Patrick Asselin had tied the game for the Generals on the power play with 2:50 remaining in regulation time, completing a late third-period comeback.
It was the second overtime win in a row for the Generals, who were without the OHL's top two scorers. John Tavares is with the Canadian junior team in Europe, while Brett MacLean sat out with concussion-like symptoms.
Brett Parnham and Corey Cowick scored the other Oshawa goals. Dale Mitchell had two assists.
Captain Kevin Baker led the Wolves with two goals, the second giving his team a 3-1 lead 7:02 into the third period. Brett Thompson scored the other Sudbury goal.
The Generals outshot the Wolves 35-33. Daryl Borden earned the win in goal, and Sebastian Dahm took the loss.
Oshawa scored twice on nine power plays, while Sudbury was 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
