Sharks take advantage of break to get some rest

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -The San Jose Sharks returned to practice not knowing when they would play next or which team they would play.

The only certainty is that the Sharks are getting some much-needed rest after knocking off Colorado in a grueling six-game series to open the playoffs.

Forwards Dany Heatley and Jed Ortemeyer and defenseman Niclas Wallin were given the day off Monday as they nurse injuries that sidelined them for part of the opening round.

Coach Todd McLellan says he hopes to have all three back in the lineup when the second round begins. That won't be determined until the final two Western Conference first-round series are decided.
