Joel Senecal scored two goals and Maxim Gougeon turned aside all 34 shots he faced as the Drummondville Voltigeurs blanked the Rimouski Oceanic 4-0 in QMJHL action on Sunday.
Senecal opened the scoring at 8:51 of the first period, with assists coming from David Bouchard and Michael MacIsaac, who scored later in the first period at 16:31 to collect his second of the year for the Voltigeurs (3-6-0-1).
Marc-Olivier Vachon, who potted his third of season at 9:44 into the second period, assisted on Senecal's third-period marker to round out the scoring.
Elsewhere on Sunday, it was: Maineiacs 3, Wildcats 2; and Olympiques 4, Cataractes 1.
At Drummondville, Que., Tommy Perreault took his fourth loss of the season after stopping 18 of 22 shots for Rimouski (3-7-1-0).
Neither team could capitalize on the power play, with Drummondville going 0-for-11 and the Oceanic 0-for-9.
Maineiacs 3, Wildcats 2
At Lewiston, Maine, Stefano Giliati scored twice to lift the Maineiacs past Moncton.
Kevin Marshall also scored for Lewiston, who moved to 3-5-0-0 on the season.
Matt Eagles, with an assist, and Randy Cameron replied for Moncton (5-3-1-1).
Olympiques 4, Cataractes 1
At Gatineau, Que., Maxime Mallette had two assists and Matthew Pistilli scored the eventual winner, his eighth of the year, as the Olympiques easily handled Shawinigan.
Mike Hoffman, Paul Byron and Travis Stacey each scored for Gatineau (5-4-0-1).
Maxime Legault had the lone goal for the Cataractes (4-3-0-1).
Ryan Mior gets the win with a 22-save performance, while Kevin Maletto, also making 22 saves, suffers the loss for Shawinigan.
