PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Ontario Hockey League leading scorer Tyler Seguin scored his 15th goal of the season as the Plymouth Whalers scored three goals in the first period and then hung on to defeat the Ottawa 67's 3-2 on Friday night.

Plymouth captain AJ Jenks and top 2009 draft pick Garrett Meurs recorded a goal and an assist apiece for the Whalers (7-4-0), who have now won two straight games.

For Ottawa, Travis Gibbons scored a power-play goal in the first period, while Cody Lindsay's goal at 7:49 of the third period made things interesting, but the 67's failed to find the equalizer.

Matt Hackett made 21 saves for the win in goal. Petr Mrazek stopped 38 shots for the 67's (2-7-3), who are now winless in their last seven games.
