Seguin out for Stars after being late for practice

by NHL.com Staff / NHL.com

Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin will not play Saturday after being late to practice Friday, coach Lindy Ruff said, according to the team.

The Stars, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention, play their regular-season finale against the Nashville Predators. The Predators have already clinched second place in the Central Division, and await to see which team they'll play in a Western Conference First Round series. Nashville will play either the Chicago Blackhawks or the Minnesota Wild, pending the results Saturday.

Seguin is first on the Stars with 37 goals and second on the team with 77 points in 71 games played this season.

Jamie Benn, who is third in the NHL with 83 points and one behind co-leaders John Tavares and Sidney Crosby, will not have typical linemate Seguin to help him pursue his first Art Ross Trophy.
