Scott Timmins scores twice as Kitchener Rangers defeat Saginaw 6-2 @NHLdotcom

SAGINAW, Mich. - Scott Timmins scored twice to lead the Kitchener Rangers to a 6-2 win over the Saginaw Spirit in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday.

The Spirit were trying to become the first team in the OHL to beat the top-ranked Kitchener three times this season.

They got off to a good start, with Ryan McDonough scoring 8:21 into the first period, but the Rangers got back into it quickly and held on.

Ben Shutron, Mikkel Boedker, Mike Duco and Justin Azevedo added goals for Kitchener (44-9-1-2).

Tyler Murovich had the other goal for Saginaw (26-23-4-2).

Ryan Daniels stopped 36 of 42 shots for the Spirit and Steve Mason had a less busy afternoon with 19 saves.

Detroit Red Wings Hall of Famer Alex Delvecchio was in the audience.
