EDMONTON - Colton Sceviour's overtime goal lifted the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings Sunday afternoon in the Western Hockey League.
Lethbridge (19-14-0-1) took the lead late in the first on the power-play with Edmonton netminder Torrie Jung knocked flat as teammate Jeff Lee cross-checked Canes forward Ben Wright into the crease.
Hurricanes goalie Michael Tadjdeh stole one from Brent Raedeke, snatching a wrist shot out of the air as the Oil Kings forward walked from the half-wall.
Jung stoned Cam Braes early in the second, kicking out the left pad one a blistering one-timer from the low slot to keep Edmonton (15-18-2-3) within one.
The Hurricanes doubled their lead at the 1:17 mark of the final period, Carter Ashton finishing a perfect two-on-one with Drew Hoff.
Jeff Lee's power-play goal halfway through the third brought Edmonton within one, a wrister that eluded Tadjdeh to the low glove side.
Raedeke tapped one in with 3:18 to go in regulation on a tape-to-tape pass by Lee from the corner.
Tadjdeh stopped 26 shots for Lethbridge. Jung turned aside 19 shots for Edmonton.
