Sault Ste. Marie uses balanced attack to cruise to 6-2 win over Saginaw @NHLdotcom

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Matthew Lyall and Jake Carrick scored 45 seconds apart late in the first period and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds cruised from there en route to a 6-2 OHL win over the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday.

Lyall, Michael Quesnele and Jordan Nolan each led the way with a goal and an assist apiece for the Greyhounds (2-1-1-0), who are tied with Windsor for the league lead in goals (17). James Livingston and Jordan Carroll added singles for Sault Ste. Marie.

Nick Crawford and Chris Chappell scored 32 seconds apart in the second period to provide the lone offence for the Spirit (2-2-0-0).

Bryce O'Hagan made 27 saves to pick up the win for Sault Ste. Marie.

Edward Pasquale stopped just 12 shots in the loss.
