Saturday's QMJHL roundup @NHLdotcom

Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored with 20 seconds left in the third period as the Quebec Remparts rallied to tie the Chicoutimi Sagueneens before beating them 5-4 in the shootout Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Vallerand potted his fourth goal of the season to send the Remparts to overtime.

Remparts right-winger Dmitri Kugryshev opened the shootout with a goal on Robin Gusse that proved to be the winner, and Quebec improved to 3-0-1.

Quebec goalie Peter Delmas stopped 35 shots for the win, while at the other end Gusse made 16 saves for the Sagueneens (1-1-2).

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Rouyn-Noranda 5, Montreal 3; Shawinigan 5, Rimouski 4; Lewiston 4, Baie-Comeau 1; Saint John 5, Cape Breton 4; and Gatineau 3, Val-d'Or 0.

At Chicoutimi, Que., Kelsey Tessier broke a scoreless tie 1:40 into the second period with a power-play goal.

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault made it 2-0 for the Remparts at 5:59, but Antoine Roussel answered on the power play for the Sagueneens at 11:00 and Jacob Lagace added another just 45 seconds later.

Julien Corriveau also scored to give Quebec a 3-2 lead heading into the third.

Mathieu Populus tied it early in the third and Roussel's second goal put Chicoutimi ahead by one before Vallerand's sent the game to OT.

Huskies 5 Junior 3

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Mickael Audette made 34 saves as the Huskies held onto an early lead to beat Montreal.

Michael Beaudry, Alexandre Mallet, Jeff Desjardins, Alexandre Beauregard and Nicolas Deslauriers scored for Rouyn-Noranda (1-3-0).

Hubert Genest, Evgeny Solomonov and Eliezer Sherbatov had singles for the Junior (2-2-0).

Cataractes 5 Oceanic 4 (OT)

At Shawinigan, Que., Pierre-Alexandre Vandall scored a hat trick as the Cataractes edged Rimouski.

Michael Bournival scored one and Pierrick Martel had the overtime winner for Shawinigan (2-2-0).

Felix Lefrancois scored twice while Jakub Culek and Alex Emond added one each for the Oceanic (1-2-1).

Maineacs 4 Drakkar 1

At Lewiston, Maine, Adrien Lemay made 32 saves as the Maineacs dropped Baie-Comeau.

Etienne Brodeur, Stefan Fournier, Billy Lacasse and Alexander Beaton each scored for Lewiston (3-1-0).

Simon Olsson had the lone goal for the Drakkar (1-3-1).


Sea Dogs 5 Screaming Eagles 4 (OT)

At Saint John, Alexandre Leduc scored the overtime winner as the Sea Dogs beat Cape Breton in extra time.

Danick Gauthier, Olivier Ouellet, Michael Kirkpatrick and Stanislav Galiev scored for Saint John (3-0-0).

Viktor Hertzberg, Luke Adam, Nick MacNeil and Michael Stinziani each had singles for Cape Breton (1-1-1).


Olympiques 3 Foreurs 0

At Val-d'Or, Que., Maxime Clermont made 23 saves as Gatineau shut out the Foreurs.

Christian Ouellet-Martel, Alexandre Quesnel and Steven Delisle each scored for Gatineau (4-0-0).

Sean Coulton stopped 38 shots for Val-d'Or (1-2-1).
