SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Defenceman Sean Sullivan of the San Antonio Rampage was named the American Hockey League's player of the week Tuesday.
Sullivan had two overtime goals and three assists in San Antonio's two-game weekend series at Abbotsford.
Sullivan had two assists and scored the overtime winner in a 6-5 win over the Heat on Friday. The following night, he had an assist and again scored in overtime to lead the Rampage to a 2-1 victory.
In recognition of his achievement, Sullivan will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Rampage home game.
Whalers' Tyler Seguin Named OHL Player of the Week
TORONTO-Forward Tyler Seguin, who accumulated seven points in three games with the Plymouth Whalers, captured the OHL's player of the week award Tuesday.
A highlight of Seguin's week was registering five points (three goals, two assists) in a 9-2 win over the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday.
Seguin, a 17-year-old native of Brampton, Ont., is in his second OHL season with the Whalers. Seguin was a runner-up for the Emms Family Award as the league's top rookie last season.
He currently leads the OHL in scoring with a league-high 14 goals with 11 assists in 10 games. He is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
