Dallas Stars coach Lindy Ruff was a guest of NHL Live to discuss his first season with the team.
At 38-29-11, the Stars lead the Phoenix Coyotes by a point for the second Western Conference wild-card spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Ruff lauded the trade that brought forward Tyler Seguin to Dallas, and the chemistry he developed with linemate Jamie Benn, as major reasons why the Stars are in the postseason hunt in the final week of the regular season.
"It's given us a duo that on a nightly basis is dangerous shift in and shift out," Ruff said. "I don't think anybody in the League would have anticipated where Tyler's at right now and also the job Jamie Benn has done. Those two players, at the age they're at and where we're at as a team, has really put us in a good position offensively."
