Rowinski scores pair as the Hitmen knock off Kootenay in 5-2 win

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Brendan Rowinski had two second-period goals to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 5-2 win over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Mackenzie Royer, Paul Postma and Kyle Bortis also scored for Calgary (16-4-1-0). Max Reinhart and rookie Drew Czwerwonka replied for Kootenay (10-9-2-3).

Martin Jones stopped 17 shots to get the win, while Kootenay starter Thomas Heemskerk stopped just 9 of 13 shots before being chased from the net in favour of Nathan Lieuwen, who made 13 saves on 14 shots.
