DETROIT -- The names were printed on the stairs to the Gordie Howe Entrance at Joe Louis Arena, along with a logo celebrating the Detroit Red Wings' 25-season streak in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

They greeted the players as they returned home after two losses to the Tampa Bay Lightning and the fans as they arrived for Game 3 of this Eastern Conference First Round series Sunday.

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference First Round series Sunday at Joe Louis Arena. The Lightning lead the best-of-7 series 2-1.

Andreas Athanasiou and Henrik Zetterberg scored in the second period for the Red Wings, who outshot the Lightning 30-16. Petr Mrazek replaced Jimmy Howard in goal and shut out the Lightning, after shutting them out twice in seven games in the first round last year.

DETROIT -- Andreas Athanasiou and Henrik Zetterberg scored, and Petr Mrazek made 16 saves in the Detroit Red Wings' 2-0 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round series at Joe Louis Arena on Sunday.

The Lightning lead the best-of-7 series 2-1. Game 4 is in Detroit on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports 2, FS-F, FS-D).

At 17:22 of the second period in the Lightning/Red Wings game, Tampa Bay requested a Coach's Challenge to review whether a Detroit player interfered with Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop prior to Henrik Zetterberg's goal. 

After reviewing all available replays and consulting with NHL Hockey Operations staff, the Referee confirmed no goaltender interference infractions occurred before the puck crossed the goal line.

At 17:22 of the second period in the Lightning/Red Wings game, video review supported the referee's call on the ice that the puck deflected off of Henrik Zetterberg's skate and entered the Tampa Bay net in a legal fashion. According to Rule 49.2 "A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player's skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal." Good goal Detroit.

Lightning not comfortable with 2-0 lead

Tampa Bay expecting even more physical games as series shifts to Detroit

TAMPA -- Tampa Bay Lightning forward Valtteri Filppula is happy his team holds a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference First Round against the Detroit Red Wings, but said he felt the games could have gone either way.

The Lightning scored three goals in the third period for a 5-2 win against the Red Wings in Game 2 at Amalie Arena on Friday. Game 3 will be at Joe Louis Arena on Sunday (7 p.m. ET: CNBC, CBC, FS-D, SUN, TVA Sports), where Tampa Bay will be without forward J.T. Brown, who is out for the series because of an upper-body injury.
