Rookie defenceman Erik Johnson sidelined day to day with foot fracture @NHLdotcom

ST. LOUIS - Rookie defenceman Erik Johnson of the St. Louis Blues will be sidelined day to day with a foot fracture, the NHL club announced Wednesday.

The club has recalled defenceman Micki DuPont from the Blues' AHL affiliate in Peoria.

Johnson, the first overall pick in the 2006 NHL entry draft, had one goal and one assist in two games. He hurt his foot in the first game of the season, blocking a shot in Phoenix, but played through the injury in the second game in Los Angeles. He then had an MRI on Tuesday which showed the fracture.
