Rieder with three points as Rangers take Game 1 against the Attack 6-2 @NHLdotcom

KITCHENER, Ont. - Tobias Rieder scored twice and set up one more as the Kitchener Rangers defeated the visiting Owen Sound Attack 6-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League playoff action.

Tyler Randell also scored twice for the Rangers, Andrew Crescenzi had a goal and an assist while Ben Thomson had a single goal.

Michael Catenacci chipped in with three assists.

Gemel Smith and Cameron Brace each scored for the Attack.

John Gibson turned away 34 shots for the win while Jordan Binnington made 36 saves in a losing effort.

Kitchener went 2 for 3 on the power play as Owen Sound failed to score on five opportunities with the man advantage.

The Rangers lead the series 1-0 with Game 2 to take place on Saturday in Owen Sound.
