NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Rick Nash scored a pair of goals, one short-handed, as the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Nashville Predators 3-0 in a pre-season meeting of Central Division rivals.
Nash scored during a Nashville power play at 4:44 of the first period. Predators goalie Chris Mason moved to the left of the goal mouth to make a pass to Shea Weber, but Nash intercepted it and fired a shot into the open net from inside the right circle.
Nash scored again with 4:02 left in the second period.
Sergei Fedorov added a power-play goal at 17:18 when he fired a one-timer from just inside the blue line past Mason.
Nashville outshot Columbus 41-17, but couldn't beat goalie Fredrik Norrena, who played the whole game.
Mason also went the distance in goal for Nashville, taking his first loss in three pre-season outings.
