Report Card for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final @NHLdotcom

PITTSBURGH - A report card on Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final Tuesday night between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins:

Red Wings, C: The only line generating any attack was the Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Cleary trio. Another strong game for third-line centre Darren Helm, another invisible game for Marian Hossa and Mikael Samuelsson gets an onion for failing to check Tyler Kennedy on Pittsburgh's second goal.

Penguins, B: For a second home game in a row, Jordan Staal got the key goal and his line did strong checking work, and Tyler Kennedy finished a gritty piece of forechecking. Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby has energetic games and generated shots, but no goals.

Red Wings, C: The defence was nowhere to be seen on both Pittsburgh goals, but they otherwise limited good scoring chances even though the Penguins got a lot of shots.

Penguins, A: Zetterberg and Datsyk had their moments, but all six rearguards played a tough game in their zone.

Red Wings, B: Chris Osgood kept his team in the game with a big stop on Ruslan Fedotenko and Malkin on the rebound in the dying seconds of the second frame. A good effort in a losing cause.

Penguins, A: Marc-Andre Fleury rebounded from a brutal outing in Game 5 and was solid and lucky - when Zetterberg hit the post in the second period and when a shot got behind him was swept away by the defence on a third-period power play.

The Canadian Press top three:

1. Marc-Andre Fleury: Bounced back with a solid appearance and game-saver on Dan Cleary breakaway in the last two minutes.

2. Tyler Kennedy: A goal and an assist and a strong all-around game.

3. Henrik Zetterberg: Detroit's most dangerous forward.
