PHILADELPHIA -- The Toronto Maple Leafs had all three goalies on the ice for Monday's morning skate, but it looks like the same two who have been playing will be in the lineup Monday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
That means Ben Scrivens likely will make his seventh straight start, with Jussi Rynnas backing him up. James Reimer, who hasn't played since spraining the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during the Leafs' game against the Flyers in Toronto on Feb. 11, will sit out.
Reimer told reporters after the skate that he's feeling better and is "inching closer" to a return, but isn't there yet.
Keeping the same lineup also would mean John-Michael Liles and Mike Komisarek will be healthy scratches again. Coach Randy Carlyle said he's been happy with the group playing in front of his goaltenders, despite the fact that the Leafs have allowed 30 or more shots in seven of the last eight games and currently are 26th in the League, allowing 31.5 shots per game.
"It depends where the shots come from," he said. "We worry about the quality of scoring chances. And if we can keep the opposition down to 10 or under, that's our goal. In our last game we gave up 12, so we were two over our mandate. For all the doom and gloom that sometimes is associated with shots, I don't think our defensive record is that poor."
Leafs defenseman Mark Fraser echoed his coach's quality vs. quantity line of thought.
"Anything that our goalies can see from the outside we have no problems with," he told NHL.com. "Anything you can keep form the outside and not give the second-chance opportunities, you're going to be fine with. That's one of the big things with us right now, minimizing some of those second-chance opportunities. The last game [Saturday against the Ottawa Senators], there were a couple goals where guys were driving to the net and able to get a stick on a rebound. That's something we need to tighten up defensively, but as far as the quantity of shots, I don't think anyone looks at it as a concern."
Here is the lineup the Leafs likely will use Monday against the Flyers:
James van Riemsdyk - Tyler Bozak - Phil Kessel
Leo Komarov - Nazem Kadri - Clarke MacArthur
Jay McClement - Mikhail Grabovski - Nikolai Kulemin
Mike Brown - David Steckel - Frazer McLaren
Dion Phaneuf - Korbinian Holzer
Michael Kostka - Carl Gunnarsson
Cody Franson - Mark Fraser
Scratched: Mike Komisarek, John-Michael Liles, Colton Orr
Injured: James Reimer, Joffrey Lupul, Matt Frattin
