Regina Pats forward Jordan Weal named Canadian Hockey League player of the week

TORONTO - Regina Pats forward Jordan Weal was named Canadian Hockey League player of the week Tuesday.

He had nine points (four goals, five assists) in three games last week.

Adam Henrique of the Windsor Spitfires and Guillaume Asselin of the Montreal Juniors were also nominated for the award.

Mark Visentin of the Niagara IceDogs was named CHL goaltender of the week. He went 1-1 last week with a goals-against average of 2.01 and a save percentage of .960.

Calvin Pickard of the Seattle Thunderbirds and Montreal netminder Jake Allen were also considered.
