Regina mayor declares special day for local junior hockey players @NHLdotcom

REGINA - Regina's mayor has proclaimed this Friday a special day to recognize two players on Canada's junior men's hockey team.

"Jordan Eberle" and Colten Teubert Day" is meant to acknowledge the contribution the two players made at the recent world junior hockey championship.

Eberle and Teubert play for the Western Hockey League's Regina Pats and both have been drafted by NHL teams.

Mayor Pat Fiacco says the two players, who were assistant captains on the junior team, are incredible young athletes and "role models young people can look up to."

The championship was held in Regina and Saskatoon this year.

The United States beat Canada 6-5 in the final game on Tuesday.
