ANAHEIM -- Detroit Red Wings forward Daniel Cleary left Wednesday's Game 5 of their Western Conference Quarterfinal against the Anaheim Ducks after he was boarded by Daniel Winnik in the second period.
Winnik hit Cleary in Detroit's zone with 5:45 remaining and went down holding his upper body. He was helped off the ice by teammate Pavel Datsyuk. No update was immediately given.
Winnik received a five-minute boarding major, which Anaheim killed.
