Real Cyr makes 47 saves as Prince George blanks Vancouver 2-0 @NHLdotcom

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Real Cyr made 47 saves to earn his second shutout of the season as the Prince George Cougars blanked the Vancouver Giants 2-0 in WHL action Saturday night.

The 20-year-old Cyr improved on his team-record with the 14th shutout of his career.

Dale Hunt, opened the scoring in the first period, and Jordie Deagle added another goal 8:55 into the third period as the Cougars blanked the Giants for the second time at home this season.

On Friday, the Giants officially eliminated the Cougars from playoff contention, scoring a 5-2 win.

The Giants (44-14-2-6) started the game 58 points ahead of the Cougars, who improved to 18-43-1-3.

Both teams finished 0-for-5 on the power play. The Giants outshot the Cougars 47-21.
