The New York Rangers
acquired the biggest player on trade-deadline day Monday -- at least in a literal sense.
The top team in the Eastern Conference acquired the 6-foot-8, 270-pound John Scott
from the Chicago Blackhawks
to add some blue-line depth in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2012 Entry Draft.
Rumors swirled throughout the day that the Rangers were trying to land Blue Jackets star Rick Nash
, but GM Glen Sather
elected to keep his team intact and instead picked up the 29-year-old Scott.
In 140 career games, Scott has 1 goal, 4 assists and 231 career penalty minutes.
