NEW YORK (AP) - Rangers captain Chris Drury made his season debut, but re-injured his finger Friday night in New York's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Marian Gaborik, the Rangers' leading scorer last season, injured his shoulder in the second period. Along with Drury, Gaborik was ruled out of the game before the third period began.
Drury was in the starting lineup after missing the first two games of the regular season because of a broken finger sustained during training camp. He was at center between top-line forwards Gaborik and Alex Frolov, but Frolov was the only one in the trio to make it through unscathed.
Drury had replaced Erik Christensen, who injured a leg during the third period of New York's loss on Monday to the New York Islanders.
The 34-year-old Drury broke his left index finger Sept. 20 while blocking a shot during a scrimmage. The center was expected to be sidelined for four weeks, but made a quicker return.
