Rangers advance to OHL final with 5-0 win over undisciplined Greyhounds @NHLdotcom

KITCHENER, Ont. - Matt Halischuk scored twice and the Kitchener Rangers advanced to the Ontario Hockey League final with a 5-0 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Wednesday.

Kitchener won the Western Conference final 4-1. The Rangers will play Belleville in the league final.

Leading 2-0 after 40 minutes, the Rangers broke the game open in the third period. An undisciplined Greyhounds team took five straight penalties, and the Rangers took advantage with three power-play goals.

Mike Duco, Nick Spaling and Scott Tregunna also scored for Kitchener. Nazem Kadri added three assists.

Josh Unice made 25 saves for the shutout.

Kyle Gajewski stopped 37 shots for the Greyhounds.
