QMJHL Roundup: Gauthier powers Foreurs to 5-4 overtime win over Huskies @NHLdotcom

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. - Julien Gauthier did the heavy lifting for the Val-d'Or Foreurs on Wednesday night.

Gauthier completed his hat trick in overtime to lift Val-d'Or over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 5-4 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Anthony Richard also scored for the Foreurs (7-11-2). Gauthier also assisted on Aube-Kubel's goal.

Alexandre Fortin struck twice for Rouyn-Noranda (10-8-1), while Ryan Penny and Francis Perron also scored.

Keven Bouchard made 18 saves for the win.

Alexandre Belanger stopped 19-of-23 shots in 41:05 of work for the Huskies. Jeremy Belisle turned aside 8-of-9 shots he faced in relief.

Val-d'Or was 1 for 5 on the power play, while Rouyn-Noranda went 2 for 5 with the man advantage.



BATHURST, N.B. ? Jakub Zboril scored at the 18:16 mark of the third period as Saint John toppled the Titan.

Daniel Del Paggio and Justice Dundas both had power-play goals for the Sea Dogs (12-3-3), while Samuel Dove-McFalls put the puck into an empty net.

Aaron Kerr and Jeffrey Truchon-Viel supplied the offence for Acadie-Bathurst (5-14-1).
